The Weller Family | Tree Farm

A family walking hand in hand at a tree farm

THIS. FAMILY.  We are so blessed to know this sweet, strong, positive family.  Kind and gracious, these parents were blessed with these two incredible boys almost exactly 3 years ago.  We have ha the pleasure of being their photographers since Alex & Ben were babies!!

The last few years have had a lot of ups and down for this family.  At 6 months old, Ben was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy and has not walked independently…yet! The Weller family has recently discovered that Ben is in the 3% of Cerebral Palsy patients accepted to receive an operation that will change his life.

Dr. Park, of St. Louis Children’s Hospital, has helped hundreds of children with cerebral palsy. He invented a life changing procedure called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) which pin points the damaged nerves by opening patient’s spinal cord. Using electricity, he finds and cuts the nerves that once connected the damaged part of the brain to the spastic muscles, eliminating them completely.

Check out more of Ben’s incredible story on their GoFundMe page as they try to raise the funds needed to fulfill “Ben’s Wish To Walk” :)
