The Selzer Family | Lifestyle Newborn

A family during their lifestyle newborn session

While there is much sadness surrounding this family at this time, we were honored to document some happy moments of Dad and big sister, welcoming their newest member of the family.  Bitter sweet doesn’t even come close to explaining the emotions, as this now family of three also had to say goodbye to their wife and mother, Patricia only 5 days after little Jack was born, one week prior to this session taking place.  While we know the reality really hadn’t set in at this point, with Patricia’s big love of photographs, we know she is looking down, proud that her family is still being captured while honoring her memory.

When Paul asked us to photograph Jack’s newborn session, there was no question that we would not only be there, but gift it to them.  It was difficult on the heart leading up to the scheduled session, but when we arrived, Paul’s strength and selfless devotion to his children put us at ease.  He is truly the most amazing father and an absolute inspiration.

Olivia is so full of life, talking constantly and oh so smiley.  Jack has to be the most easy-going baby ever and so solid!!  Not really a chubby baby, just SOLID!

The Selzer Family is one that we are just humbled to call friends.  Paul was a HUGE part of our boys track and field club as a pole vault coach and president.  While he’s had to step down to be with his children, we know he will be back when the time is right.  Until then, Brad has some big shoes to fill as the new president, but has taken the role with great passion to ensure Paul can focus on his family and not fret about the club.

To help honor Patricia, we have vowed to Paul that we will photograph his family as much as we can.  Patricia was always taking photos of the kids and Paul was worried he wouldn’t remember to take enough.  He is doing a great job, but we’ll help ensure there is no shortage in the photo department :)
