Nathan & Hayley | Shylynn Ranch Wedding
Our 200th wedding and what an incredible day this was!! Nathan & Hayley planned their perfect, magical day, surrounded by their family and friends at the stunning, Shylynn Ranch in Salmon Arm, BC.
We were so excited to finally meet Nathan & Hayley during their Knox Mountain Park engagement session only days before their wedding. We just loved the connection between these two; they are not only so easy to be around, but also to photograph.
Nathan & Hayley’s entire wedding day took place at one of our new favourite venues, Shylynn Ranch. There was definitely no need to go elsewhere, as the venue is well equipped with everything you need for a spectacular day. We started off the day with getting ready photos; Brad headed to the guy’s cabin, while I met the girls in the ranch’s Bridal Dressing Suite. There was so much excitement and emotion, right from the start; all the makings for a wonderful, heart-felt day.
The wedding ceremony was stunning. Laughter and tears were plenty with the unique ceremony planned perfectly for the couple. Hayley’s Dad’s took turns walking her down the aisle. Mom’s of the bride and groom spoke for part of the ceremony, which was such a sweet, special touch. Even their adorable fur-babies were present, as they are such an important part of their lives; they were even dressed for their important roles.
There was no shortage of breathtaking photo locations surrounding the venue. Where to choose was the only difficult part with so many options! We gathered the wedding party for photos in the freshly cut wheat field. The mountain view was so gorgeous, as were the beautiful people we were photographing :) The corn field was also the perfect backdrop!
Hayley has a special request for us, which she brought to us during the engagement session. She wanted to indulge in an inside joke with her closest friends and have photos taken with a unicorn. Yes, a UNICORN! It just so happened that Angie, of Shylynn Ranch, has a beautiful, senior white horse on-site (actually grey, but to non-horsey people, looks white, so we’ll go with “white”). We also had a horn, which we created for a styled shoot a couple years ago, so together, we brought Hayley’s vision to life.
With a mostly overcast day; we almost escaped the predicted rain….almost. Nathan & Hayley didn’t let a few raindrops ruin any part of their day, so they snuggled in it and even danced a little for a few photos before we headed back to their reception.
This truly was a joy to be be part of. We could not have been more excited to FINALLY photograph a wedding at this amazing venue and with the most perfect couple ever, at that :)
